C. elegans image selected for the pART of Research calendar 2024

(24.10.2023) Alexandra's scanning electron microscope image of the tail of the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans, which she took together with Steffen Köhler (WE Biology), won the pART of Research calendar competition 2024. Congratulations! The photo will be featured in next year's calendar alongside eleven other fantastic images from various areas of science.


New PhD student, welcome Rene Schnorr!

(15.10.2023) Rene has joined our group to work on Adhesion GPCRs in the nematode C. elegans. He is interested in shedding light on how the receptors, in particular the Flamingo/CELSR/ADGRC homolog, mediate cell shape and changes thereof.


Dr. Simone Prömel appointed W2 Professor of Cell Biology

(25.01.2021) Prof. Dr. Anja Steinbeck, Rector of Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, appointed biochemist Dr. Simone Prömel as W2 Professor in the Department of Biology on January 21. She researches receptor proteins, which also play an important role in various diseases. (more...)
